Jackie Carter is an undergraduate student majoring in Film and Media studies and minoring in Asian American Studies graduating with the Class of 2018 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She was a founding member of Delta Kappa Alpha, a professional cinema fraternity, and served as Public Relations and President. She was the Public and Community Relations Director of the Southern California Pilipino American Student Alliance (SCPASA) in 2017, and publicized upcoming SCPASA events through social media. Outside of this, she has many PR experiences with other organizations. In the summer of 2016, she had the opportunity to study abroad and travel to South Korea. This expanded her knowledge with the Korean and Asian culture and solidified her passion for film. Following her trip to Korea, she visited the Philippines for the very first time and is in the process of making a short documentary following her experiences in cities such as Manila, Coron — Palawan, Tagaytay, and Baguio. She has a strong interest in fashion and has worked behind the scenes for several short films as a wardrobe stylist and costume designer. She enjoys getting involved with the Filipino community and learning more about the Filipino diaspora in the film and entertainment industry.
